Robert M. Biddinger, 80, Westport, died at 5:16 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004 at his residence.

Born Oct. 20, 1923 in Waynesburg, he was the son of Elmer Dale and Mary Ellen Brotherton Biddinger. He married Harriet Hamilton on March 13, 1947 in North Vernon.

A lifelong resident of the Westport community, he retired in 1988 from Arvin Industries at Columbus. He also worked at the Bewley Bakery in Westport and was a veteran serving the Army during WW11 in Asiatic Pacific Theater.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard D. Biddinger and Kenneth W. Biddinger; two daughters, Janet Faye Yeager and Sandy Biddinger; two sisters, Delores Fields and Dorothy Manlief; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharolyn Irene Biddinger; two sisters, Mildred Allen and Ellen Smith; three brothers, George, Clancy and Walter Biddinger.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating. Burial will follow in Rockcreek Cemetery with military graveside services. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
