The week old daughter of Pvt and Mrs. Larry Shelton died at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelton home a mile from town on Highway 210 of pneumonia. Pvt. Shelton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Shelton, is with the U. S. Army, stationed in Hawaii.
Also surviving are the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Howell, of near town. Burial will take place in Buffalo Cemetery.

Alfred S. Howell, 70, of Route 1, Hodgenville, died Aug 7, 1981 at Hardin memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, where he had been a patient for several weeks. He was a retired Mechanic with the State Highway Department. He is survived by his wife, Cris Hines Howell; four daughters, Christine Howell, Elizabethtown, Joyce Abbott, New YHork, and Shirley McIntosh of Buffalo; four sons, David Earl Howell, Maryland, James Edward Howell, Louisville, Donald Eugene Howell, Brooks, Ky., and Floyd Mitchell Howell, of Hudson, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; five sisters, Verdia French, Rt 3, Hodgenville; Edna Petebenner, of Illinois; Effie Underwood, Rt. 2, Hodgenville; Lela Mae Skaggs, Magnolia; and Pauline Keith, of Louisville. The body was at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home until funeral services Monday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Gardner officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
