Obituary

Margaret "Googie" Jenrette Forehand, 86, of Tifton, died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 20th at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado with Rev. Todd Garner officiating. The eulogy will be given by David Grantham. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors. Mrs. Forehand's grandsons and Rusty Cravey and Eric Cravey will serve as active pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers are, Steve Pearman, Michael Blanton, Charles Roberson, Craig Sowell, James Montgomery, Randy Meadows, Herby Benson, Phil Salter, Mike Buhler, Eddie Watson, Steve Hyman, William McClain and the Sanctuary Sunday School Class. Mrs. Forehand was born April 29, 1927 in Waycross to the late Samuel Jesse Jenrette and Mamie Lee Swilley Jenrette. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Ernest Carl "Ernie" Forehand, Jr. who died in 2008, five brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Forehand was a homemaker and along with her husband owned Tift Sports Shop for twenty-nine years. As a military wife for thirty years, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading and spending time with her dogs, Chloe and Lucy. She was a member of Union Grove Church of God. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ann Burgess of Tifton, Susan and Glenn Keener of Jesup and Cindy and David Grantham of Thomasville; two adopted daughters, Elizabeth Kelley and Clara Grammer; grandchildren, Scott and Stephanie Burgess, Jason Keener, LeeAnn and Anthony Mosley, Carla and Allan Draheim, Cole and Gloria Grantham, Randi and Eugene Nguyen, Lois and Eric Taylor and Paul Kelley; great-grandchildren, Gage Keener, Dallas Mims, Haley Burgess, Emma Burgess, Hayden Taylor and Harper Lee Taylor and one sister, Peggy Giddens of Ocilla as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Some of my favorite memories was dropping by the sports store on Main Street and visiting with aunt Margaret and uncle Ernie! They always had a smile on their face and big hug for me!!!! I will miss that terribly! RIP aunt Margaret!!

I will miss Aunt Margaret. She always had a clear head about her and was very much the lady. She was so much fun to be around too. I know that Ricky,Mama and Bigmama were there to greet her when she passed over. They had a large family reunion. Can you imagine all the members of her family that had been waiting for her? It will be difficult to be without Aunt Margaret but she is in a better place. I am sorry that I can't be there celebrate her life but I am there in spirit. I love you all.
