He was the son of Isaac Benjamin and Mary Lou (McDaniel) Whitaker and married Emma Louise Burnaugh - 20 Jun 1911 - Coffee Co., Tenness. After her death, he married Iva Beatrice Roach - 10 Dec 1966 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:

McDaniel (Mac) Whitaker of 708 Swanson Boulevard, Fayetteville, retired farmer and businessman, died Friday of last week at Lincoln County Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 90 years old.

Services were held Saturday at Ralston Chapel, with the Rev. William Shouse, minister of Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. James Swiney, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late I. B. and Mary Lou McDaniel Whitaker and was an elder in the Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Iva Roach Whitaker, Fayetteville; a sister, Mrs. J. L. Shannon of Dresden; a brother, Holland B. Whitaker, Petersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Rites Conducted Here Last Saturday For McDaniel "Mac" Whitaker --

Funeral services for McDaniel "Mac" Whitaker, 90, retired farmer and businessman of Fayetteville, were held at 2 o'clock last Saturday afternoon at Ralston Chapel. The Rev. William Shouse and the Rev. Joe Swiney officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Whitaker died last Friday afternoon in the Lincoln County Hospital following a long illness.

He was a native of Lincoln County, a son of the late I. B. and Mary Lou McDaniel Whitaker, and was an elder in the Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Iva Roach Whitaker of Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. J. L. Shannon of Dresden; one brother, Holland B. Whitaker of Petersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
