Born in Bayersried, Krumbach, Bavaria, daughter of Mathias and Genofeva (Jaeger) Miller. Married 6 Nov 1853 in Hollidaysburg to Joseph Mayer who died a very short time afterward and then married Ottmar (Morris) Weber (Weaver) on 11 Jan 1854 in Newry. Barbara died of consumption in 1867, leaving five children. The late Barbara Petkus of Kalamazoo, Mich. recalled her own grandmother (Barbara's daughter) recounting how Barbara sat in bed as she was dying, and sewed little white dresses for her daughters to wear at her funeral. While her husband was away fighting in the Civil War, Barbara took in washing to supplement the family income, often working long hours in the winter in icy cold water. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's and afterward St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was the mother of Joseph and Maria Miller (d. in infancy in Germany), Joseph (Mayer) Weaver, Catherine Weaver (d. young), Mary Ann Koch Marks, Barbara Downey, Ellen Theresa Ellis, Catherine Weaver (d. infancy) and Morris John Weaver. Her son-in-law, Andrew Marks, is buried next to her. Year of birth on tombstone incorrect.
