"Ed" was born in Pennsylvania but moved with his parents to California in the late 19th century. He was a rancher and farmer in the San Joaquin area. He managed large grain and cattle farms throughout the area. He became the owner and bartender of the "Mountain Pass" and "Yosemite Junction". He bootlegged whiskey in 1929. Mountain Pass was between "Yosemite Junction" and the "Winkin' Lantern". After the highway took out Mountain Pass, he owned a beer parlor in Copperapolis.
Henry "Ed" Weaver died while opening a gate at his son Claude's residence at the Winkin' Lantern on the Sonora Highway (Hwy 108).
