Elma Chandler Smith died Saturday, October 4, 2003, at City Care Center of Anna. She was 81.
She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on January 16, 1922, the daughter of Daniel and Creasie Amos Starcher.
She married Oscar Chandler and he died on November 25, 1975. She later married Herbert Smith, and he died in January 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley E. Chandler of Murphysboro and Dennis Chandler of Ullin; two daughters, Mrs. Susie Adams of Ullin and Judy Zeschke of Anna; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Wheeler of Barberton, Ohio; one step-son, Don Chandler of Grand Tower; one step-daughter, Lois Burke of Spring Hill, Tennessee; and a very special friend, Don Raby of Elco.
Her parents, one sister and one brother also preceded her in death.
