Eva was one of 10 children (Charles, Esther, John, Mabel, Mary, Richard, Joe, Helen, Alfred) and was born to Charles William and Frances Esther Blotz in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Eva first married Nels Hanson on June 26th, 1942. They had 5 daughters and 4 sons. For many years, they operated a farm and a grocery store in Oldham. After Nels retired, they both moved over to Lake Preston. He passed away in February 1975.
Eva also was employed at Kingsbury Memorial Hospital in Lake Preston until she passed away.
On October 11th, 1975, Eva married George Stevens. She was step-mother to 1 son and 2 daughters.
She passed away from a heart attack at home. She was 57.
She was also survived by 25 grandchildren, 2 of her brothers (John and Charles), and 4 of her sisters (Mary, Helen, Mabel and Sister Esther).
Funeral services were held at St. Thomas Catholic Church in De Smet, SD on Tuesday, January 27th, 1981 at 10:30am. The funeral was officiated by Father Bernard Weber, and music was provided by organist Mrs. George Coughlin and the St. Thomas Choir.
Johnson-Henry Funeral Home (Lake Preston/Arlington) handled arrangements.
