David Virgil Batman David Virgil Batman, 85, of Waynesboro, died on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Shenandoah Nursing Home, Fishersville. He was born on December 16, 1927, in Shenandoah, Virginia, son of Virgil Clay and Nora Bell Propes Batman. Mr. Batman was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. A United States Army veteran, he retired from DuPont where he was a security guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Granville Batman; and sisters, Annie Davis, Frances Davis and Eva Auwarter. Survivors include his son, Norman L. Batman and his wife, Linda; brother, Walter Batman; sisters, Mary Fields, Virginia McCourry and her husband, George, Emma Rankin and her husband, Homer; two grandchildren, Christopher N. Batman and Timothy D. Batman and his wife, Brannelly; and two great- grandchildren, Kate and Claire Batman. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Augusta Memorial Park by the Reverend C. Todd Crowder. There will be no formal receiving of friends but Mr. Batman may be viewed at McDow Funeral Home during regular business hours.
