YORKTOWN - Ronald Terry, 86, went home to be with his Lord and the love of his life on Friday, August 30, 2013, at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 21, 1926, in Oneida, TN, the son of Rev Gayson and Elfie (Garrett) Terry. On September 29, 1945, he married Sarah Louise Sexton, and together they shared sixty-five years of matrimony until she preceded him in death in 2011.

Ronald worked as a Production Control Manager for Borg Warner for forty years until he retired on his birthday in 1984. He was a seventy-five year member of Old Town Hill Southern Baptist Church and was the general contractor involved in its expansion construction. Ronald was also a member of the Delaware County Masonic Lodge #46, the Carpenter's for Christ, and did lots of volunteer construction work. Ronald enjoyed fishing and loved singing and southern gospel music, especially the Gaither's, and even sang in a men's trio with Warren Smith and Vernon Bell and a quartet, the Sounds of Zion.

His survivors include five children, Patricia Baker (husband, Mike), Muncie, Ron Terry, Yorktown, Don Terry (wife, Connie), Yorktown, Diane Ditzenberger (husband, Ray), Columbia, TN, and Teresa Phipps (husband, Bill), Yorktown; nine grandchildren, Wendy Winkle, Christy Wimmer (husband, Aaron), Kimberly Darling, Greg Terry (wife, Holly), Amy Mahoney (husband, Bruce), Jason Conklin, Dustin Moody (wife, Amber), Devan Burke, and Dylan Burke; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; four siblings, Amaryllis Sewell (husband, Alvis), Elouise Walls, Gayson Lee (wife, Evelyn), and Gladys Goad (husband, Bill "George"); four sisters-in-law, Peggy Bell (husband, Vernon), Loma "Daisy" Sexton, Clara "Sis" Sexton, and Vernal Terry; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John L. and Myrtle Sexton; his loving wife, Sarah Louise Terry; one sister, Imogene Peters (husband, Freddie);brother, Raiford Terry; brother-in-law, Hollie Sexton (wife, Edna);brother-in-law, Dester "Bro" Sexton (wife, Ava); brother-in-law, Johnnie "Gene" Sexton; sister-in-law, Pauline Sparks (husband, Larry); sister-in-law, Betty Jo Campbell (husband, Hollis); brother-in-law, Roger Sexton; and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Alexander (husband, Bobby June).

Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Old Town Hill Southern Baptist Church, 3000 S. Burlington Dr., Muncie, IN 47302 with Pastor Bruce Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites by the Veterans of Delaware County.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave, Muncie, or for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Masonic Services will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Old Town Hill Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, 3000 S. Burlington Dr., Muncie, IN 47302.
