Born on September 15, 1925 near Myersville, Maryland.
She was the daughter of the late Orville and Annabelle Shriner Baker.
Mrs.Cook was born and raised a country farm girl. She was the wife of the late Hanford Cook Sr. They were married 63 years. She loved farming. She drove a school bus for many years for Frederick County Public Schools. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, playing Parcheesi, cooking, going to Walmart, McDonald's, Blugrass and Country music. She has been a life long member of the Monocacy Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her sisters Mary Harman and Rachael Eichelberger. Brother Orville Baker Jr. Her son Hanford Cook Jr. and wife Helen. Her son Larry Cook and wife Michelle. Grandchildren Jeffrey Cook and wife Jodie, Cheryl Holt, Marie Hemp, Otis Cook and wife Denise, and Teresa Cook. Nine Greatgrandchilden and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father Annabelle and Orville Baker. Her husband Hanford Cook Sr. Her brothers Wilson and Ralph. Her sisters Dolly Free, Katherine Stover, and Rowmain Eyler.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, Md. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at the Monocacy Church of the Brethren, 13517 Motter's Station Rd., Rocky Ridge, Md.
Pastor Dave Collins will officiate. Pallbearers will be: David Eichelberger, John Eichelberger Jr., Leon ( Buddy ) Stover Jr., Jeffrey Cook, Otis Cook, and David Whitmore.
