Les, 83, was born to Fred and Mary (Cook) Schissler. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1948 and married Donna Young in Mt. Vernon, WA, March 15, 1952. Les was a professional bowler for 30 years and owned and operated numerous professional bowling shops throughout the Denver area. He was named to United States Bowling Congress Bowling Hall of Fame, Colorado Bowling Hall of Fame, and Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. Les was in Guinness Book of World Records for shooting the first 300 in an ABC National Tournament in 1968. He enjoyed fishing and watching Colorado sports, especially the Rockies. His favorite pastime was spending time with grandchildren. He worked for Great Western Sugar and Samsonite Luggage. Survivors beside his loving wife included: children Roger (Madelyn) Schissler, Terry (Ed) Lewis, Eileen (George) Suazo, and Sharon (Anthony) Montoya; brother Kenny (Judy) Schissler; sister Marylee (John) Houdek; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding were both parents, brother Benny, and sister Alice. Celebration of Life held October 5 at Lucky Lanes Bowling Alley, 1850 E. Bridge Street in Brighton. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
