Howard Wiig was born Aug. 15, 1919 in Irwin, Ia. the son of Christian Ran-dolph Wiig and Louise Knudson Wiig. As a young man he was in the Army. Later his occupation vra a farmer. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin.
At the time of his death he had attained the age of 73 years, nine months and nine days. He passed away on Monday, May 24, 1993 at Manilla Manor in Manilla.
Survivors include one daughter, Barb (Mrs. Mark) Kanne of Harlan; three sans, Richard Wiig and his wife, Renae of Irwin, Robert Wiig and his wife, Denise of Irwin, Roger Wiig and his wife, Michele of Spencer one brother, Norman Wiig and his wife, Margaret of Harlan; one sister, Lola Jensen of Harlan; one brother-in-law, Robert Holland of Belvidere, Ill.; eight grandchildren. Also special friend, Mary Boeck of Shelby, Ia.
Preceding him in death was one son, Ronald Mark Wiig and one sister, Ruby Holland.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin on May 27, 1993 with Reverend Douglas L. Mathis"n officiating. Interment was in Danway Cemetery in Shelby. County.
Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan was in charge of arrangements.
