Don Pfaff of Springfield, Oregon died Aug. 31 of a brain tumor. He was 78. He was born Nov. 2, 1926, in St. Paul, Minn., to Sidney and Rosalie Cummings Pfaff. He and his wife, Fran, were married May 2, 1947, in St. Paul. He attended Breck Military Academy. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946, he worked as a truck driver and handyman. He enjoyed helping others, sharing Bible truths and hiking and was "passionate" about gathering firewood. He was a member of Calvary Open Bible Church and Hope Center. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Greg of Eugene, Steve of Keizer and Chris of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Connie Baker of Springfield; two brothers, Gordon of Phoenix and S. Robert of Auburn, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
