Mrs. Dorothy McDonald, 45, of 411 N. Cedar was discovered dead in her home Thursday morning. She apparently died Wednesday night, officials said. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Yackley will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. McDonald was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Grand Island, the daughter of Walter and Daisy Fletcher Cadwalder. She attended school and grew up here. On Feb. 7, 1953, she married William McDonald at Aurora. They lived in Grand Island until 1970 when they moved to Dannebrog. They returned to Grand Island in 1976. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; seven children, Mrs. Robert Boyd, Connie McDonald and Dianne McDonald, all of Grand Island, Danny of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Glenn Lemburg of Boelus, and Kimberly McDonald of Cairo; her mother of Grand Island; three brothers, Roy of Grand Island, Bert of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Fred of Elba; five sisters, Ms. Rueben Kissler of Wyoming, Mrs. Bob Hiatt of Thousand Palms, Calif., Mrs. Evelyn Hatcher of Hastings, Mrs. Elmer Gannon of Lawrence, Kan., and Mrs. Art Ewoldt of Wood River, and five grandsons. She was preceded in death by her father.
