Today we hold an honored memorial. It has pleased the Lord on New Year’s Day at 9:00 a.m. to take to Himself from the world, Emil Henry, the twin son of the marriage of Henry Becker, landowner in Serbin and his wife Helena née Kasper, whose mortal remains a week ago received a Christian burial with a graveside benediction.

The child was born on 1 February this past year and received the Christian name Emil Henry at his holy baptism. He was sickly from his birth and finally worsened in teething on the third Christmas day. He fell asleep in the Lord on New Year’s Day at 9:00 a.m. at the age of 11 months.

May the Lord comfort the parents left behind; a grieving brother, August; two grieving sisters, Pauline and Clara Hulda; the grieving grandma, Anna, widow of John Pampel, farmer in Serbin and her children; and all near and distant relatives and friends.

Thanks to Andrew Kappler and his dear wife, Agnes, for all recognized love and rendered assistance; the sponsors Matthew Schuster, Peter Pampel, Frederick Karcher, John August Gersch; and, Christiana Pampel, Clara Pampel, Johanna Weise and Magdalena Lehmann for small bouquet of flowers and gifts; to Maria Kubitz for demonstrated help; to Magdalena Synatschk for a bouquet of flowers; to Peter Pampel for transporting the body; to the grave diggers and the fellow mourners.
