CHARLES FRINGS TAKEN BY DEATH
WELL KNOWN GRAND RIDGE RESIDENT,
ILL FOUR YEARS, DIES AT HOME
Charles E. Frings, 79, of Grand Ridge, died at 4:15 p.m. yesterday at his home, after an illness of four years duration. He was suffering with a heart condition.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from the Peter Lenhausen home, near Grand Ridge,and at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in st. Peter and Paul cemetery.
The body was removed this afternoon to the Lenhausen residence, the decedent's former "home place" where friends may call this evening and until the hour of the services. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Surviving Mr. Grings (*Frings) are the following children: Mrs. Albert (Frances) Schmitt, Wenona; Mrs. Peter (Cecilia) Lenhausen, Tonica; Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Naughton, Grand Ridge; Godfrey Frings, Tonica; Mrs. Lloyd (Helen) Rinker, Grand Ridge; Clement Frings, Wenona; Mrs. Albert (Ida) Brei, Grand Ridge, and Mrs. Floyd (Lucy) Puetz, Streator.
His wife, the former Frances Franzenberg (*Frangenberg), to whom he was married May 21, 1947 (*Clearly incorrect--Frances' obituary said May 30, 1902), preceded him in death 15 years ago. A son, William, died in 1910. There are 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Frings, the decedent was born Jan. 24, 1871, in Germany, coming to this country when a young man, and settling in the Grand Ridge area.
He was a member of St. Peter and Paul church, and the Holy name society.
