Mrs. Lars (Martha) Lura, 90, died October 14 at the local hospital. The funeral was in Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday morning, October 16, Rev. Marvin Williamson officiating.
Martha Kristine Lima was born June 25, 1886 at Gjesdal, Norway, the daughter of Ole and Kristine Lima. She was married to Lars Lura at Horten, Norway October 15, 1907. They came to the United States in 1911, living first at Montrose, South Dakota. They moved to the Cooperstown community in 1917, and farmed here until retiring and moving to Cooperstown in 1956.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Lura leave three daughters, Mrs. John (Gertrude) Peterson, Sun City, Arizona, Mrs. Norman (Lilliane) Anderson, Chatham, Mass., and Mrs. Alvin (Myrleen) Boe, Cooperstown; two sons, George of Cooperstown and Ole L. Lura, Modesto, California; one brother, Olav Lima, and two sisters, Mrs. Martin (Sara) Edland and Miss Rakel Lima, All in Norway; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
