Henry Behnke

Henry O. Behnke, 71, of Collins, died unexpectedly late Saturday morning, Aug. 29, at his residence.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins. The Rev. Kenneth Edenhauser will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Behnke was born July 6, 1910, at Collins, son of the late Edward and Helen Damm Behnke. He attended Collins Grade School. He married Myrtle Wegner July 11, 1934, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Collins. The couple farmed near Collins until 1962 and thereafter residing in Collins.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Nancy, Rodney and Mary Ann, and Dennis and Joyce of Collins; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Donald Cardinahl, and Beverly and Howard Riemer of New Holstein; two brothers, Frederick Behnke of Reedsville and Paul of Brillion; seven sisters; Mrs. Tillie Rusch of Brillion, Mrs. Helen Otto of Chilton, Mrs. Dahlia Utke of Reedsville, Mrs. Esther Zeamer of Manitowoc, Mrs. Elsie Behnke of Reedsville and Mrs. Evelyn Kanter and Mrs. Elnore Graf of Brillion; 26 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
