Arthur C. Holtz, 84, of LeMars, died Friday (Feb. 5, 1982), at Plymouth Manor, Le Mars.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Methodist Church at Merrill. Rev. Donald Bardole officiated.
Burial was in Hillside cemetery at Merrill.
Mr. Holtz was born Aug. 28, 1898, in Scott County to Henry and Katie (Heerde) Holtz. He married Fayth Norton Feb. 21, 1923, in Alvord.
He was a farmer in the Hinton-Merrill area. He and his wife have lived at Plymouth Manor for a year and a half.
Survivors are his wife; nine sons, Arthur of Hinton, James of Rochester, Minn., Harlan, Melvin,
and Louis, all of Sioux City, Dale and Allyn, both of Merrill, Marvin of Moville, and Jon of Union City, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Betty) Alf of Hinton, Mrs Eugene (Darlene)Staunton of Litchfield, Minn., Mrs. Dan (Carol Gazinsky of Omaha, Judy Diller of Le Mars, and
Mary Jane Norton and Mrs. Donald (Janet) Doyle, both of Sioux City; 57 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.
A son, Robert Holtz died in United States military service.
