Remsen to John and Theresa Mai. She
graduated from St. Mary's High School in
Remsen and attended the School of Cosmetology
in Sioux City. She moved to
Storm Lake to work until she married
Roland Porter on August 22, 1942 in Minneapolis.
After Roland returned from the
service they made their home in Marcus
for six years. They moved to Storm Lake
in 1953, where Roland was in the decorating
business.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Roland in 1987; her
parents; and a sister, Adeline
Beckman.
Orline is survived by six children,
Linda and husband Dave Skogland
of Branson, Mo., Karen and
husband Steve Sather and Dean and
Nancy Porter, all of Naperville, Ill.,
Don and Diane Porter of Storm
Lake, Gary Porter of Minnetonka,
Minn.; 16 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren;
two step-greatgrandchildren;
two sisters, Mrs.
Tootie Herrig of Alton, and Mrs.
Marlene Wilmes of Mankato,
Minn.; and two brothers, Bob Mai of
Remsen, and Marvin Mai of Omaha.
