Elmer L. Litz, 82, of Bloomington died Monday, December 4, 2006, at Meadowood Health Pavilion in Bloomington. He was born in Smithville on October 10, 1924, the son of Elmer and Etta (McGlothlin) Litz.

He was an Army veteran of World War II serving at Normandy and Central Europe as a Private First Class.

Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Mobley) Litz of Bloomington, one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Trudy Litz of Bloomington; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Mandy and Nathan Floyd of Carmel and Jayme and Mike Christman of Bloomington; one great granddaughter, Lucy Floyd, and one sister, Wyneta Robinson of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carl Cantrell, and two sisters, Frances Litz and Thelma Bastin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Allen Funeral Home with Tom Ellsworth officiating.

Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery where the Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in care of Allen Funeral Home.
