BOSSIER CITY LA- Celebration of Life Services for Aaron A. Barksdale, 84, will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 pm. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2014 at Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Aaron was born on November 3, 1929 in Campti, Louisiana and went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 2, 2014 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Aaron served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. After returning from the war he went to work for Bossier City Fire Department, retiring as Assistant Chief in 1982. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis Lawton and Zora Wren Barksdale; three brothers and a sister. Aaron is survived by his loving wife, Esther Brown Barksdale; sons, Darryll Barksdale and wife Marcia, Steven Barksdale and wife Jamie; his grandchildren, Aaron Barksdale and wife Jessica, Dawson Barksdale and wife Kali, and Darby Barksdale; great grandchildren, Skylar and Aubrey; his sisters, Myrtis Bamburg, Yvonne Scogin and Margaret Sanders. He also leaves behind two nieces and seven nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bossier Firefighters Benevolent Fund in care of Barksdale Federal Credit Union or Waller Baptist Church.
