Allan(Buddy) was born in Clifton, AZ to Bush Wrod and Stella Anna Cairns Baker. He attended Clifton Schools and graduated from Clifton High School. After graduation he attended the University of Arizona. He joined the Army in 1942. While serving in the US Army as master Sergeant, he also attended Drerell Institute of Technology and the University of Delaware. After military duty, Mr. Baker complete his education in Pennsylvania at the Harrisburg Business College. He then returned to Clifton and became Post Master in Feb. 1948. He retired in 1975.
He met his wife to be, Helen Carter, when she came to teach in Clifton. From this union two daughters were born. He was much respected and loved by the town's people of Clifton for his hard work and kindnesses during his time as post master.
