"Henry J. Sowers, 73, of 1353 Turkeyfoot Lake rd., died Wednesday in Peoples Hospital after an illness of year. He was an employe of the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. 30 years. He was a member of the of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the 20-year Club at Firestone. Mr. Sowers leaves his wife, Dora; two sons, Herbert L. and Karl D. of Akron; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Kittle of Akron and Mrs. Virginia Harris of Clinton; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Myers of Akron. Services for Mr. Sowers, a native of Garrett County, Md., will be. at the Eckard Funeral Home Saturday at 1. p. m., the Rev. Earl Rothgeb officiating. Burial will be at East Liberty. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight."
