Chief Warrant Officer 3 Harold Ladon 'Buzz' Evans, 60, of Elizabethtown died Thursday, Feb. 16, 1995, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. A native of Blakely, Ga., he retired from the U.S. Army in 1975 after 25 years of service. He was a decorated soldier who did tours in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was employed by Jefferson State Vocational School as a diesel-auto mechanic teacher for 13 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 113, VFW and Fort Knox Masonic Lodge 919 and was Treasurer of the Black Horse Association. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Wells.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Dolan Evans; three sons, Larry Evans of Sterling, Va., Johnny Meredith of Goodletsville, Tenn.,and Gary Evans of the U.S. Air Force in Alaska; four daughters, Denise Colclasure of Depew, OK., and Chrissy Evans, Penny Gray and Tammy Carey, all of Elizabethtown; His parents, O.B.and Ruby Evans of Florala, Ala., two brothers, Dwight Evans and Greg Evans, both of Florala, Ala.; four sisters, Barbara, Joan, Janet and Brenda; and 13 grandsons. The funeral was Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with members of the American Legion and Fort Knox Masonic Lodge officiating.
