Rebecca was born in Pennsylvania to James and Martha (Andrews) Bowman, she married Robert Lowry and they had four children. Following Robert's death (sometime between the 1870 and 1880 censuses), Rebecca and her family moved to Linesville by 1880 and then to Cochranton by 1900 where she resided with her daughter Nannie and her family.
