Anna married to the Reverend Asahel Hough on 2 May 1855. About 1889, he was appointed Home Missionary to Montana. They traveled by stagecoach and lived there in such a primitive way that Anna's health gradually declined. He resigned his commission in Montana and took her to southern California in the hopes that she would regain her health.
