Edward Warnkes*, 71, of Minonk died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, at his home. He had not been well for two years.

His funeral was held on Friday, March 20, at St Peter's Lutheran Church west of Benson, the Rev E.V. Elzey officiating. Burial was in St Peter's Cemetery.

Deceased was born Aug. 2, 1892, in Clayton Township. son of Menne and Ida Flohr Warnkes. He farmed all his life until moving to Minonk in 1953. He married Sena Johnson in Olio Township Dec. 18, 1912.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs Alvena Tjaden, Minonk, and Mrs Mabel Kettwich, Eureka; a son, Norman, Toluca; two sisters, Mrs Margaret Shoup, Germantown, and Mrs Rena Johnson, Eureka; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
