Norman L. Warnkes, 90, of the Pattonsburg area died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday (May 12, 2005) at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He was born March 3, 1915, in rural Benson to [Andrew] Edward and [Gesina] Sena Johnson Warnkes. He married Velda Kolb on Nov. 9, 1947, near Benson. She survives.
He was preceded in death by a wife and two daughters in 1946; and one sister, Alvena Warnkes Tjaden Hatton.
Norman and his wife, Velda, lived and farmed in the Pattonsburg-LaRose area for 58 years. He was of the Lutheran faith.
