Albert ("Stan", "Tut") Elsworth Stanaland, 88, passed away, Wednesday, January 4, 2006. He was born June 3, 1917 in Tuscola, TX. He married Lois Marie Longbotham, April 25, 1937; she was 14, and he was 19. He was a member of the Old Time Fiddler's Association, loved to play music, and judge fiddle contests. He was a life-long Baptist, and member of Del Norte Baptist Church. He was licensed to preach, January 15, 1950. He did a little of everything in his lifetime including breaking polo ponies, cooking for the construction crew that built Ft. Sumner Dam, working on the railroad, working building construction on the first homes built in Los Alamos, also as a truck driver and auto mechanic. He loved his family, and was much loved by his family in return. Survivors include his wife of 68 years; one sister, Marie Goodman, Tulia, TX; daughters; Nina Worden, Aztec, NM, Peggy (Leon) Greene, Arizona City, AZ; Frances Davis, and fiance, Tom Martinez, Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Spartz; brothers, Harold, Claude; sisters, Ruth, Hazel, Enid. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, January 9, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery Blvd. NE, with Dr. Robert Myers, officiating.
