William Zachary Stanaland Dies Sunday+++.-Funeral services for W.Z. Stanaland, 69 years old, were conducted Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church. The rites were under the direction of Elder S.J. Ellis of Plainview, assisted by Elder Willie Fox of Amarillo. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home.
Mr. Stanaland died at 1:15 Sunday morning in Swisher County Hospital. He had been in ill health for about three years. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
A native of Troy, Ala., Mr. Stanaland came to Texas a the age of nine. He was reared in Wood county and moved to Swisher in 1925.
Pallbearers were M.E. Barton, J.A. Bartlett, Ben Kelly, Edwin Wesley, D.C. Adams and Charlie Ellis.
Survivors include his widow; four daughters, Mrs. C.A. McElroy of Portales, NM; Mrs. B.A. Gilliam of Denver City; Mrs. Richard Bingham of Captain, NM; Mrs. E.C. Goodman, Tulia; three sons, C.B. of Tulia; W.H. of La Junta, Colo.; and Albert Stanaland of Espanola, NM; a sister, Mrs. O.B.
