Wasinger was born April 28, 1923, in Collyer, Kan. He served in the Army during World War II, earning the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Europe/African/Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, four overseas service bars, the Bronze Star and a Victory Ribbon.
On July 24, 1948, he married Gladys G. Garriott in St. Louis.
He is survived by his wife; five sons, Sonny, Michael, Mark, Gregory, Denver, John, Littleton; four daughters, Karen Scott, Judith Wasinger, Wheat Ridge, Theresa Hertzog, Arkansas, Susan Kellogg, California; nine brothers and sisters; and 14 grandchildren.
