Wife of William Joseph Voss, married Jan 13, 1951 Linn


VOSS Bernice Voss, age 79, of Linn, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Hays, Kan., the daughter of Peter and Suzanna (Hammerschmidt) Wasinger, both deceased. She was married Jan. 13, 1951, at St. George Church, Linn, Mo. to William J. Voss, who survives at the home. Bernice, a longtime resident of the Linn Community was a homemaker and had also taught 2nd and 3rd grade at the St. George School. She was a member of the St. George Church, Linn, Mo. and St. Ann's Sodality. Together with her husband Bill, she co-founded the Good Shepherd Food Pantry in Linn, and was a recipient of the Good Samaritan Award for her many charitable acts. Bernice enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and loved to read. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Other survivors include: one son, William Voss Jr. and wife, Denise of Jefferson City, Mo.; three daughters, Marilyn and husband, Randall Boeller of Spring, Texas, Jeri and husband, Rudy Veit of Jefferson City, Mo., Kerry and husband, Matthew Brake of Osage Beach, Mo.; three sisters, Lucille Grelle of St. Louis, Mo., Bernita Wasinger, S.S.M.D. of St. Martins, Mo., and Mary Wasinger of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Emmanuel Wasinger of St. Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Emil, Felix, Robert, Wilfred, Thomas, and Marion Wasinger. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Morton Funeral Chapel, Linn, Mo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at the St. George Church, Linn, Mo. with the Rev. Edwin Schmidt as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. George Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Shepherd Food Pantry, Linn, Mo. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morton Chapel, Linn, Mo. 897-2214.
