William H. Allee, 70, a retired steam shovel engineer, died at 4 pm yesterday in the home of a daughter, Miss Wilma Allee, 570 W. Prairie Ave, where he made his home.
Mr. Allee came here three years ago from East St. Louis and had been in failing health for about six months. He had been employed by the Marion O. Steam Shovel Company.
He was born in Lawrenceville on Dec 24, 1884 (*note-actually 1883), a son of Calvin and Martha Allee. He was married to Lena Mary Edwards, who died Aug 20, 1953.
Mr. Allee leaves a son, Calvin, Columbia, MO; 11 daughers, Miss Wilma Allee and Mrs. Lillian Pierce, both of Deactur, Mrs. Doris Oliver, Collinsville, Mrs. Martha Koudelka, Belleville, Mrs. Gloria Hensler, East St. Louis, Mrs. Jerry (Alma) Hoffman, Chicago, Mrs. Betty Okertich, Mrs. Moneta Rankin and Miss Jean Allee, all of St. Louis, Mrs. James Adams, Plainview, Long Island and Mrs. Glenn Miles, Greenville.
He also leave two brothers, R.C., Flat Rock and T. C., Jaysonville, Inda; three sisters, Mrs. Estella Konton, Vincennes, Mrs. Inez Lackey, Gary (IN) and Mrs. Lela Lutrick, Flat Rock, and 14 grandchildren.
The body will be taken from J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home to the Kassly Funeral Home in East St. Louis for services and burial. vjm
