Survivors include his wife, Myra (Lucas) Smiley of Franklin; a daughter, Barbara Hoffmann of Indianapolis; three sons, Gary Smiley of Sardinia, Ohio, and Mike and Steve Smiley, both of Indianapolis; two brothers, Robert Smiley of Greenwood and Phillip Smiley of Campbellsville, Ky.; three sisters, Marie Stephens of Indianapolis, Mabel Burton and Jean Quinn, both of Columbia, Ky.; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Laura (Alley) Smiley.
The Rev. Larry McAdams will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 U.S. 31 North in Whiteland. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
