Amelia English, age 86 of Willard, NC, passed away June 11, 2014 at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Peniel PFWB Church in Willard conducted by Dr. Howard J. Harrell. Burial will follow at Peniel PFWB Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
She is survived by three sisters, Juanita Mann of Raleigh, NC, Sally Berry and husband Frank of Southern Pines, NC, Rose Winfree and husband Joe of Lansing, NC, two brothers, Steve English and wife Phyllis of Hendersonville, NC, Frank English of Willard, NC, fourteen nieces and nephews, twelve great nieces and nephews and two great great nieces and nephews.
Born December 27, 1927 in Pender County, NC, Ms. English was the daughter of the late Edward Leland and Adeline (Pigford) English and was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Leland English, Jr., Ronald (Pop) English and one sister, Rosalyn English Burns.
Amelia was a life long member of Peniel PFWB Church and loved gardening, flowers, her pets and especially all of her nieces and nephews. She was very fondly known as "Meatsie".
