Nancy Joyce Burson, 83

BOARDMAN – Nancy Joyce Burson, 83, formerly of Alliance and Salem, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Aug. 22.
She was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Moline, Ill., a daughter of Floyd and Alma Olsen Ailes. She moved to the Youngstown area in 1980 after living in Alliance and Salem.
Mrs. Burson was a graduate of Alliance High School. She worked for 15 years as a switchboard operator for Electric Furnace Company in Salem, starting in 1963, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Salem Methodist Church and was a member of the choir. She also loved music, dancing and traveling.
She leaves three daughters, Julie (Rick) Ann Razo of Poland, Susan Austin of Newbern, N.C., and Becky Simpson of Leetonia; two sons, Tom Burson of Parker, Colo., and Scott Burson of Florida; a sister, Martha (Jack) Grapentine of Enon; a brother, James (Esther) Ailes of Alliance; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Ailes.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor David Cretella officiating.
Interment will be at Fairmont Cemetery in Alliance.

*Note- Was married to Virgil D. Burson on February 6, 1950 in Stark County, Ohio. Born to Willie E. Burson and Carrie Oesch in approximately 1924. Divorced.
