Emma Tucker, 92, a native of Lodi, died Wednesday in a Chico convalescent hospital following a lengthy illness.
She had lived in Lodi up until a year ago when she moved to Chico to be near her daughter due to ill health.
She was the daughter of pioneer Lodi residents William and Sophie Beckman and was raised and educated in Lodi and attended the Stockton Business College.
Mrs. Tucker worked as a bookkeeper at a brewery in Stockton and later worked in Pittsburg.
In 1906 she was married in Lodi to the late George Franklin Tucker who died in 1935. The two lived in Oakland for a time, but she returned to Lodi after his death. She worked as a biyer for Lodi Dry Goods and later worked at San Joaquin General Hospital as a bookkeeper and purchasing agent until her retirement.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Delpha Warner; a brother, Eugene Beckman; and two grandchildren.
