Services Held For Melvin Bateman

Funeral services for Melvin Porter Bateman, 72, of Route 2, Dickson, were held on Sunday, September 5, in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with burial in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bateman, a retired sheet metal worker, died Thursday, September 2, at his home.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lena Tidwell Bateman; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Loggins of Taylor Township, Michigan, Mrs. Reba Hood of Dickson and Mrs. Eulane Daves of Elizabethtown, Ky; five sons, Melvin Bateman, Jr., of Parma, Ohio, Jack Bateman of Japan, Billy Bateman of Warren, Mich., Mike Bateman of Dickson and Neil Bateman of Nashville; one sister Mrs. Eunice Davidson of Dickson and ten grandchildren.
