A memorial service for Reba Bateman Hood, age 83, of Dickson will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Bon Aqua's New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. John E. Tidwell officiating. Mrs. Hood died Friday, August 12th at her home.
A native of Hickman County, Reba was the daughter of the late Melvin P. and Lena Hester Tidwell Bateman. She retired as a sales clerk for CVS Pharmacy and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Gilbert Hood, brothers, Melvin P. Bateman, Jr., Jesse "Jack" Bateman, and Neil Bateman, and by her grandson, Travis Hood.
Survivors include her children, Judy Hood Brown of Dickson; David Hood of Colorado; Robin Hood and Charlie Hood, both of Dickson; Lisa Jones and her husband, Jeremiah of Lyles; Tina Stout and her husband, Vance; all of Dickson; brothers, Bill Bateman and his wife, Wadie of Cincinnati, OH, and Mike Bateman and his wife, Pat of Dickson; sisters, Marie Loggins of Dickson, and Eulene Daves of Dallas, TX; eleven grandchildren, Nathan Brown, Jessi Hood, Shawn Brown, Thomas Hood, Ethan Smith, Melissa Smith, Eric (and Amy) Smith, Josh Hood, Stacy Hood, Ben Stout, and Aryan Jones; two great grandchildren, Landon Smith and Tess Smith; and three step grandchildren, Angel Delaney, and Austin Stout; several nieces and nephews.
