Miss Elizabeth "Betsy" Allen was born on April 30, 1814 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the daughter of George Allen Sr (1774-1847) and Elizabeth (Blackwood) Allen (1776-1838).
She was 86 years old when she passed away on May 26, 1900 in Montgomery County and was buried in Allendale Cemetery, and although her grave is unmarked, her name and dates were included in a long memorial marker that included the names and dates of all seven known burials in this cemetery.
