William Henry Alder, 129 West Bethel Street, died at the Washington County Hospital last night of complications, following an illness of two years. He was 73.
Born and reared at Shepherdstown, he was the son of James M. and Georgianna (Walker) Alder, and had lived in Hagerstown for 45 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving are
a son, Frank, of Napoleon, Ohio;
three sisters,
Mrs. Mary Webber, Martinsburg;
Mrs. William Thomas, Hagerstown, and
Miss Effie Alder, this city.
A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The body was removed to the A. K. Coffman Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Dr. William Norment officiating. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown.
