Ida B. Black Michaels, 85, former North East resident, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1993, at Twinbrook Medical Center.
She was born March 21, 1907, in Apollo, a daughter of the late John Harrison and Matilda Baker Black.
Mrs. Michaels was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church and had worked at Eureka Electrical Products Inc. in North East and in the refrigeration department at General Electric Co. Before retiring, she had worked as a cook at Larry's Truck Stop and O'Neils Restaurant, both in North East.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva H. Michaels on Feb. 10, 1976; one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, James Michaels, Newark, Del., and Thomas Michaels, Harborcreek; three daughters, Beatrice Tanner, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy) Vanderhoof and Mrs. James (Arlene) Craig, all of North East; two sisters, Zleda Mercer, Kinsman, Ohio, and Erma Rosenberger, Vandergrift; 19 grandchildren; and 40 great grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 South Lake, North East. Services were held with the Rev. Sherwood Sawyer, pastor of Greenfield Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was at Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made at the funeral home.
