Otto F. Beckman, 73, proprietor since 1925 of the Otto F. Beckman fuel and feed store at 630 N. Sacramento st., passed away at his 235 S. Hutchins st. home yesterday evening after a long illness.
A native Lodian, he was born November 25, 1883, in a house at the corner of Hutchins st. and Kettleman lane. Before entering the fuel and feed business for himself in 1925, he worked for the Pioneer Fuel and Feed Co., and for Beckman, Welch and Thompson Co., general merchants.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a life member of the Lodi Rotary Club and the Lodi Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Louise M. Beckman; a son, J. Fink Beckman; and five grandsons, Robert, John, David, James and Steven Beckman, all of Lodi.
He was the brother of Mrs. Ella Long, Stockton; Mrs. Hilda Taylor, Atherton; the late Emil and Arnold Beckman; the late Mrs. Clara Taylor; and the late Mrs. Freida Polenske.
