VIRGINIA BEACH - Frank Glen Bowden Jr., 84, of the 3500 block of Byrn Brae Drive, passed away May 28, 2007, in Norfolk.
A native of Norfolk, he was the widower of Helen Fabella Bowden and the son of the late Helen and Frank Glen Bowden Sr. He retired from civil service as a maintenance worker on the naval base. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Norfolk, and sang with the Commodores.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Bowden of Greenville, N.C.; two nephews, James White and John White Jr. of Chesapeake; two nieces, Linda Walter of Courtland, Va., and Gail McPherson of Branchville, Va.; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Stokes of Virginia Beach. He was predeceased by a sister, Norma White.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park with Dr. LeRoy Briggs officiating. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
