Born in Norfolk, VA, Mrs. White was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church.
She was the widow of John W. White, Sr., and is survived by two daughters, Linda H. Walter and husband John of Courtland, VA and Gail S. McPherson and husband Terry of Branchville, VA; two sons, John W. White Jr.and wife Linda and James M. White and wife Brenda, all of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Frank G. Bowden of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren, Lisa Williams, Christopher Whitmer, Mike Callahan, Tayna Hogge, Adam White, and Christopher S. Arthur; and ten great grandchildren.
She will be missed by all her family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rev. Doug Dixon. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
