Edward Cowan was a native of Tipperary Ireland, (born Sep. 1st 1849. Died Feb. 4th 1920) brought to Woodstock Ont., Canada when he was 3 years old. He remained in Canada until he came to Sanilac County USA in 1861. He married Mary E. (Nelson) on Oct. 21 1873 at age 24. He homestesded his 140 acre farm and raised his family.
