Rites Held for Joe B. Weaver
Funeral services for Joe B. Weaver, 76, of Norman Park, were held Thursday morning at the Oak Dale Baptist Church with interment in the Oak Dale cemetery.
Officiating ministers were the Rev. Quinton Barnes and the Rev.Garnie Brand.
Active pallbearers included Danny Carter, Ken Weaver, Ben Weaver, John Weaver, J. N.( Son) Weaver, John Lewis Weaver and Rufus Norman.
The son of the late John Lewis Weaver and Florence Law, Weaver was born in Sumter County on May 26, 1896 and came to Colquitt County when he was four years old. Until his health failed, he was actively engaged in farming and community life. He was a member of Oak Dale Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Norman Weaver of Norman Park; four sons, J. Darrell Weaver, James Robert Weaver and Lamar B. Weaver of Norman Park and Ralph Eugene Weaver of Colquitt, GA; one daughter, Mrs. S. J. Carter of Tifton, 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
