Funeral Set for Eastberg

Funeral services for Edgar Eastberg will be held Thurs., Nov. 29,
2pm at the Congregational Church of the UCC at Uehling. He died
Monday at Dodge County Memorial Hospital in Fremont at the age of
84 following a brief illness.

Pastor Hiram Lilley will officiate at the services, Interment will
be in the Baptist Cemetery of Uehling. Visitation will be at the
Church Thursday from 12:30 P.M. till the time of the service. Edgar
Eastberg was born on June 7, 1900 at Oakland, the son of Frank and
Matilda Eastberg. He lived in Oakland throughout his youth, moving
to Aurora for a few years, then back to Oakland where he was
engaged in farming. In 1929 he moved into Uehling.

He was a member of the Congregational Church of the UCC of Uehling,
a member of the Uehling Town Board, served as mayor of Uehling from
1950 to 1958, a past member of the Uehling Volunteer Fire
Department and had been a commissioner for the Boy Scouts of
America and a merit badge counselor for Boy Scout Troop 205 of
Uehling. He was a retired road overseer for Logan Township. He was
married to Grace Nelson Feb. 16, 1924 at West Point. She preceded
him in death in 1970.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Survivors include two sons, LeRoy of Uehling, Ron of Fremont; one
daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Norma) Black of Neligh; 13 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde of Oakland; three sisters,
Mrs. Hannah Jacobsen of Fremont, Mrs. Jim (Lorena) Olsen and Mrs.
Richard (Ethel) Wickert of West Point.

Mrs. Ed Olson, Organist: Vocalists, Charles Landholm and Mrs.
Raymond Wedergren.

Pallbearers: E. D. Murer, Loell Strand, Eldon Peterson, Russell
Uehling, Rodney Sherman and Stan Voskamp.

Interment at Baptist Cemetery, Uehling, Nebraska, November 29,
